I'm In The Zone‏

The other night I read a blog that inspired me... she was talking about missing that feeling of being in the zone with food and exercise. I empathized with her as I have not been in the zone for quite some time.  She then hoped she would find it soon... I told her we both could get it back since we both knew the feeling.

This being out of the zone thought wouldn't leave me though... The more that I thought of it, the more I knew that it was within me to be in the zone... 'I' had stepped outside and allowed one excuse after another for my food and my exercise choices. What makes me happy about all of this is that the life change I made is just that a life change... All I have to do is change.

I've been on my own this week... with that I have taken the time to clean out some cupboards and drawers... it's been wonderful purging. Then tonight I read about how we needed to make our goals known. So, I'm going to make a short list here. I've always known this is true but it's always good to be reminded when I seem to have forgot.

I have already stopped the excuses about food... I'm going to be planning my weekly meals out so that I will be set up for success.

I have found three people I can walk with, we just have to work out schedules... I walked for almost an hour with one girl last night. My neighbor has a dog I can take for good long walks. She will be my nightly companion when I have to walk on my own. I was able to get out with another person tonight, they really challenged me, I will have to walk with them more often.
Completing my courses.. on the way to starting that soon. Define a plan for my career with my company or possibly going outside the box.

My chapters for my book have been written, I need to organize them and proof read. I know how to put a sentence together... I just like writing the way I talk with family and friends. Which I know is not proper for a book. This probably won't happen until the new year, due to my courses.

I have other goals I'm going to leave for another post... I just feel wonderful being in the zone again.

If we realize how beautiful it is within, there won't be any worries. All the best for fighting for that beautiful journey you talked about buddy. Thanks for going past my blog. 6. Hello Launna,

Perhaps a really significant part of accomplishing challenges in life is not to feel alone in the quest. As you have found, there are others with whom you can walk so that exercising feels more company able and pleasant as a result. With regard to your courses, we are sure that you will find others to whom you can turn for moral support when the going gets difficult. And, for your book you can rely on yourself.......and we, your readers, can be part of the journey!

  11. you're on a good way. having goals and wanting to achieve them is one good step into a better, healthier, happier life.

by the way, the nutella recipe i shared on my blog is really healthy and it's so delicious. and not too sweet. you should really try it. also if valentina likes nutella. that's a great alternative recipe.

yep yellow really brightens up your days. guess it will become my new favourite apparel colour.
launna, i haven't felt so well at the beginning of this week, but it gets better. life is too beautiful to be sad.

i'm also glad to hear that you also like the new colour of my book shelves. i also love refinishing furniture, but it's a difficult and sweatsoaked work. but it's worth it. i would love to see your 'new' dresser. sounds like a nice project. you should begin it. changing colours also change your life, to the better.

i'm wishing you a wonderful, sunny and warm weekend my dear.
glad we can call each other friends.

    much love!

  14. I understand the concept of "being in the zone." That's how I used to describe the times when I rolled strike after strike at the bowling alley or sunk every ball on the pool table, no matter how difficult the shot. (Trust me, it didn't happen very often!) To live one's life with that feeling every day would be amazing. I hope it happens for you, sweetie. Sounds like you're on your way to making it happen.

  15. I knew someone once who loved to tell stories but he wasn't much of a writer. I told him he should record himself telling the stories, then pay a writer to transcribe it and turn it into a novel. It could work!

  16. It feels wonderful to be in the zone, doesn't it? That's basically why I started being more productive in my planner--I figured that if I actually wrote out my personal goals, I would get around to doing them. And it's been working out so far :)
A book! That sounds amazing :) I love writing, but I never get around to finishing stories. I guess that will have to be a personal goal to set for myself.
I hope you're able to accomplish all of your personal goals, I know you can do it! Have a wonderful weekend. :)

I love that you are in the "zone." I need to get there too! When I was doing so well and was losing I was definitely in the zone. I didn't care what anyone around was eating or doing, I had my own plans. When I'm not in the zone I have a much harder time dealing with temptations.

A book is so exciting! I can't wait to see what you have done!!!

  37. "In the zone" is ringing in my head now as a commercial but I can't think of it just now. Congrats on getting in the zone. I feel that way about writing - I'm trying to get there. I've been toying with the idea of turning comments off. I thought maybe if I didn't worry about whether or not someone was reading it, I would write no matter what. I don't know. I probably won't do that. LOL. I need to find a exercise companion. There's an aqua spin class at the gym but I don't want to go try it by myself.

Wow Launna, that's amazing you're writing a book and I think writing the way you talk to family and friends is the best because it makes it more relatable so don't feel like it's wrong. :) Also, I know what you mean about being out of the zone. Sometimes I work out 2 days in a row and think I can keep this up forever and then the next week is a whole different story. It's definitely a mental game and it sounds like you have a great game plan taking it day by day. Inspiring post as usual. :)
