Living With The Joy And The In Betweens

I have been writing in my gratitude journal for 30 days straight now, I find it gives me a time to just reflect on what is really great that is going on in my life, it usually ends up that I write about the small things.  I think small things need to be celebrated, they are the steps we take on our journey to love ...

I finally have a word for how I have been feeling for the last six months, I am not ready to share it, for the moment it is just good enough that I know the word.  It has opened my eyes as to why I have been on such an emotional roller coaster.. I read another blog Friday night called .As Far As The Eye Can See, I have written about her before, she writes things that move me deeply.
What she wrote made me realize the word, I wrote in my other journal/blog Friday night... I wrote for over two hours.  I usually take the time to read it over and fix up the sentences.  Last night I was too tired, plus it gave me a lot to think about.  I have been feeling less joy lately but I don't allow myself to wallow in the feelings. Sometimes I cry and that is okay ... I laugh a lot too.  I have been in a why stage for so long ... when it doesn't matter why anymore.

I opened a door finally... one which lead me to write for so long Friday night, it just poured out of me, no time was taken between thoughts... the next thought was there as soon as the last one was written.  Eventually I will will post it here, it is probably the most real I have ever been with my writing.  I tend to hold a little back for various reasons but mostly because although I share a great deal of myself... I haven't been ready to put it all out there.
I slept for a little over three hours ... probably the longest stretch in six months.  I had decided to get groceries Friday night because I did not want to deal with the crowds on Saturday ... so that meant I had a day where I actually got some things done around the house, all the dishes are done and so is the laundry, I just have to get the floors done.  I can just imagine how much I could get done if I could sleep a little more.  At least the last two nights were headed in the right direction.

I have made a few decisions for myself, one's I plan to share in my blog soon... I am first trying to get a little order in place so that I will be ready to move on with some of my plans.  Chaos and disorder do little to help me move ahead with ideas and plans, order is something I need a little of... otherwise I am just floating around, completing nothing.
I wish I was better at letting go like some people but then I wouldn't be me who really feels... I would be them who never felt enough.  For when I have loved, I gave my heart and soul... I soared with joy... if I had held back, I never would have felt that joy, that is what people who hold back in life miss out on. So, although it is tough to feel emotions, I would much prefer to feel than to bury them and never really live.

  10. This post reminds me of my daughter. She's on 15 (just barely 15) and she feels everything so fully and intensely. It's nice, but I get scared for her too because when she aches for herself or someone/thing it's so intense. It makes me want to scoop her up and protect her even more, but you know at 15 that's not possible. That's when the wings are getting their fullest. :)

Hugs to you, and I'm happy you found your word!

It so important in life when someone takes time to do thing that make them happy and working to prove themselves instead of others. once again, you doing thing so right, I'm proud of you. Me, do too, instead of look out of others, I rather focus on how well of my behavior I could be:). Wish you happy new week:)..

  28. I always enjoy your posts because they are so raw...from the heart. They are real and thought-provoking. Self-reflection is such an important thing, and if you've been through a tough time, it's absolutely mandatory in the healing process. I think you are well on your way, and you're doing exactly what you need to do. Just through reading your blog, I can tell what an incredibly strong, honest woman you are. I completely agree with you that it's better to feel and work through your emotions than to bury them inside and ignore them. You'll never fully heal if you do that.... It's definitely not a way to live life. Thank you for sharing this post with us, it was beautifully written. <3

Enjoy all these small details and if its only a perfect sunset, or the perfect song at the right time which moves you deeply!! Write it all down, wait one day and then read it all again! You will be fascinated what details you had in your mind and still forget immediately!!! I know that all your plans will come true!!! This one word, for sure I would love to know, but may you will keep it as your secret...cant wait to find out! I send you all my love and all the joy I can give!!

  33. Launna, I think that it is great that you have been writing in your gratitude journal and also doing other writing. I know when I have the chance to write like that, it helps me see things more clearly. It's like when I write down my thoughts I can understand things better. It sounds like you are that way too. I'm glad to hear you have figured some things out. Things like this take time. Treat yourself with kindness. :)

  35. I am glad you are writing in your gratitude journal. I have been writing in mine daily since I started it and it really does make a difference. It makes you really think about all the good things that are happening. I too write about lots of small things. I think that means they add up a great life.

It sounds like your writing is helping you to figure out things that you need to understand to make you life your own. I hope it all starts coming together for you soon. Then, maybe, you will start sleeping through the night again.

You are a person who feels deeply and expects much from yourself. Please just realize how wonderful you are. It is evident in the comments you leave on blog posts and how hard you try to get to so many peoples blogs.

I think it will be great to read the writing you have done.

  37. great post. i agree that the little things should be celebrated more. life is so fleeting... we sometimes focus on too many things, not realizing that life is now, at this very moment...over before we know it.. we are all different at how we hold on to things, people and memories. but like you said, we should focus on those that are good, even if its something small.

  41. Floating is okay for a time. We need the calmer waters between storms. I love that you're focused and working to keep yourself positive, and how do you do it on so little sleep? I was up until 5 AM again, unable to shut down my brain, and with 4 hours of sleep, I'm hoping I'll make it through the day. A good nights rest makes such a difference. Oh and food. Goodness, I should probably eat something today. Here's to making steady progress, one day at a time!

  42. I'm sorry you're not getting adequate sleep, that plays a lot on emotions too. I've gone through bouts of insomnia. One time it was a really stressful time other times it was just for no reason (I guess). Anyway that was a side note - can't wait to see what you have in store.

  55. crying is okay, indeed. it clears your soul. i also told that to a friend of mine whose father died some days ago. life isn't simply black and white, and we should allow sadness and happiness in the same way we allow life and death in our lifes. it's a natural circle, nothing strange. and it's very good to read that you can sleep a little better. 3 hours - you're on a good way my dear.
btw i also do not like the grocery crouds on saturdays and in the evening on workdays - it's stressful.
