Taking A Break To Get Balance

I have been thinking about this for a while, Thursday brought it front and center and I realized I have to change something in my life so that I can began to sleep a little more than the few broken hours that I get every night and that I have had for the past 7 months.

Since it is working hard on becoming Spring here, today was gorgeous... it gave me great hope that more days are on the way.  One of the things I want to do is work out more, I have been walking a great deal since my last post. I have walked over 12 miles, it has felt wonderful to get back out at it, I have lost a little speed but I am sure I will get it back soon.
I think exercising will help me relax and I want to spend more time getting organized as I am actively looking for a new place and I have people looking as well. I need to be prepared to move and not have excess baggage to weigh me down.  The older I get the more minimalistic I become.  I seriously want to get rid a good 50 percent of my stuff because I don't use it, it just takes up space and causes clutter.

I also want to spend a lot of quality time with Valentina, we have been cooking together, playing a board game here and there, watching a TV show together... It has been good but we need more of those days.  So I have already been around to many blogs where I left comments and emailed others to let you know that I have decided to take a blog break and a social media break starting Monday morning and I am not sure how long I will be gone.
I am going to miss you, I know I have missed messaging a few, I follow a lot of blogs and so many of you inspire me or leave me lovely comments on my blog.  Some of you I have come to know through other forms of social media and I have really loved connecting which I will be back to ... just as soon as I figure out how to get some sleep.

I am sure I will not know what to do with myself for a while, I usually wake up... have a shower and then read and comment on blogs... then more on the way to work, at lunch, on the way home... So I have decided to walk as much as I can and spend as much time as I can with Valentina.

I will still be answering emails so if anyone wants to say hi and let me know how you are doing you can email me here .  I have a little work to do and it involves spending a little time just meditating and not filling time up so that I don't have to think or deal.  Which only spills over into my life where I am unable to sleep... Let me tell you that I have gone without sleep many times in my life, having a baby is one of those times but a bit different as I napped whenever I could and I did get 4 hours strung together.

I rarely sleep for more than 2 hours at a time and sometimes 3 hours... That is not enough to really focus on work and being a parent, both of these need my full attention and when I don't sleep they are affected.  I hope when I come back it will be where I have a little more balance in my life ... with sleep being one of them.

I look forward to catching up with you when I get back, until then I will miss you...

    Of course we shall all miss you but totally understand your reasons for having a break. One thing is for sure, blogging should never become a chore and, as for you at the moment, when there are other things to be done which take up the day, then so be it.

    It is, as you know, very, very important to look after yourself and your health and you must, if at all possible, try to develop better sleep patterns. Perhaps more time spent outdoors walking, which you obviously enjoy, may in time help you to sleep better. We do hope so. And, of course, you will have even more fun with your Valentina when you are trying to do less and are less tired.

  18. I will miss reading your posts Launna but I think you are doing the very best thing you could do -- you are putting yourself and Valentina first before everything else. I think taking the time to exercise more is going to help, too! It will relieve lots more stress than sitting in front of your monitor reading does. You will be missed but I hope you will be back.   41. I don't know how you are functioning on such little sleep. I am in the process of eliminating caffeine from my diet. I am hoping that when I do I have a better quality of sleep. I get way more hours than you do but I don't feel like I sleep sound except for a few hours. Enjoy your break!

  42. you have walked 12 miles? that's fabulous! i'm also glad to read that you want to change something. that's very healthy and it's the best choice, really. i must admit that i haven't slept very nice the past days, too. i also had some problems and that's also why i couldn't write you back earlier. but i guess it will all be gone when i have finally moved.

    cooking together with the ones you love is also a very nice way to become happier. and sports are always a good way to find harmony. i experienced that when i stopped smoking.

    take time for you, you deserve to be happy!

  43. i'm also touched that my comments make you smile. that's so lovely to hear, thanks launna ... oh when i read about this woman you wrote about, this reminded me of a problem a good friend of mine had with one of her neighboors, also a jealous and insecure person who wanted to see other people suffer. don't think about such persons. i told my friend that she should also forget her. she's not worth it. it's good that you don't care what she says about you or thinks about you. because such people really don't deserve to stay in our lifes. i also had to endure such persons in my life. but i got rid of all of them. it's also very important for your own mental health.

You're in a great mind space in regards to yearning for change and a closeness with your daughter so please take all the time you need. Most importantly I hope you can crack though that block that is keeping you restless at night. I will definitely miss your insight and inspiration over here but your well being and the relationship of those you hold dear are so much more important so I will refrain from sending a quick hello email as that would be precious time you could have spent simply chatting or joking with your daughter. When you do return, I really look forward to reading about how you went through this exciting undertaking. Oh, and good luck finding a new place!

I'd rather do something else that I've been missing while I spend too much of my free time for blogging. When I took my time off, I only read comment from my phone, so please do enjoy and working with your sleepless, give yourself for more an exercise so it might help you to get more sleep. I saying it because I had the same problem( sleepless) and I worked out a lot more and watch more comedy shows. that was help me, the pill didn't help me at all. thanks also for being wonderful Launna! oxox.
